Ravens Want to Replace Pro Bowler with Former Patriots Starter.

Bill Belichick Reveals New England Patriots Pursuit of Baltimore Ravens' Lamar Jackson Last Offseason - Sports Illustrated New England Patriots News, Analysis and More

The Baltimore Ravens have remained strangely silent during the 2024 offseason while the rest of the NFL has been busy building their roster.
It was thought that they could eliminate a few key players to free up cap space. Nobody has been released as of yet.

Lamar Jackson’s contract can be restructured by the Ravens to clear $11 million in cap space. That has also not occurred.
Their offseason efforts have so far consisted of franchise tagging and then extending Justin Madubuike in addition to re-signing Nelson Agholor.

That may soon change, as the Ravens must move quickly in order to assemble a competitive roster for the 2024 campaign.

As they try to reassemble their team, they might already have their first major plan in mind.
The Baltimore Ravens are one of four clubs that are presently interested in signing guard Michael Onwenu of the New England Patriots, according to Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal.
The Titans, Giants, and Commanders are the other three teams in interest.

A Patriots Steal in Round Six
In recent years, the Patriots have selected a number of dubious players in the draft.
Their landing on Onwenu in the sixth round was a small consolation prize.
Onwenu, who was selected late in the third round of the NFL Draft, was a starter from the start and had a great rookie campaign, moving about the offensive line to cover for the Pats wherever they needed him.

He had trouble in 2021 as a left guard, but in 2022 he was able to secure a long-term residence.

He began his career with the Pats in 2022 and 2023 at right guard.
One of the league’s top guards for the season, Onwenu started all 17 games in 2022 and only gave up one sack in addition to two fouls.

Despite a slight regression in 2023—he gave up three sacks and four penalties in 15 games—he was still a solid starter. For the last two seasons, he has also performed admirably as a run blocker. He will now be a highly sought-after option in free agency, and the Ravens, who may lose some key players in the near future, will undoubtedly be searching for answers along the offensive line.

The Offensive Line Change for the Ravens
In 2023, Baltimore boasted one of the top offensive lines in the NFL.
They gave opposing pass rushers the least amount of pressure in the league. For their runners, they also produced the most yards before contact in the league. Regretfully, the O-line might be where they lose out.
Kevin Zeitler, a right guard, is a free agent following his 2023 selection to his first Pro Bowl.John Simpson, the

starting left guard, is also without a contract.
Ronnie Stanley, the starting left tackle, is thought to be a cut candidate.
Morgan Moses, a right tackle, is also on that list.
The offensive line could change so drastically that the Ravens might consider moving Onwenu in Zeitler’s place.
