With the Philadelphia Eagles, former Auburn offensive tackle Jack Driscoll has been a blocking tight end for former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts. With the Miami Dolphins, he will now be a blocking back for former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

After playing for the Eagles for four seasons, Driscoll became an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday. The Dolphins confirmed on Monday that they had signed him.

With the addition of Driscoll, Miami’s offseason is still busy with offensive lineman. In 2023, the Dolphins struggled to keep their offensive lineman on the field. Austin Jackson, the right tackle, was the only offensive lineman for Miami to play at least 75% of the snaps in the regular season—and Jackson did not even miss a game.

In the 2020 NFL Draft, Driscoll was selected by Philadelphia in the fourth round. He has made 17 starts in 54 regular-season games and four postseason games.

Driscoll’s main responsibility while playing for the Eagles was to support five-time Pro Bowl right tackle Lane Johnson. All but eight of Driscoll’s 172 offensive snaps in 2023 occurred during three games during which Johnson was sidelined due to injury.

At right tackle, Driscoll started four games in 2020, one in 2021, two in 2022, and one in 2023. In 2022, he also started one game at left tackle and eight at right guard.

The Miami offensive line starters for the 2023 regular season were: Connor Williams for nine games and Liam Eichenberg for eight at center; Robert Hunt for eleven games, Eichenberg for three, Jones for three, and Cotton for one at left guard; Kendall Lamm for seven games and Terron Armstead for ten at left tackle; Lester Cotton, a former Alabama standout, for seven games, Isaiah Wynn for seven games, and Robert Jones for three at left guard; and Jackson for sixteen games and Lamm for one at left tackle.
For 2024, the Dolphins plan to use Jackson and five-time Pro Bowler Armstead at tackle spots. Along with Wynn, who resigned after becoming a free agent, Cotton, Eichenberg, and Jones are all back.

The Miami Dolphins signed free-agent center Aaron Brewer after he started every game for the Tennessee Titans in 2023, but Hunt was lost to the Carolina Panthers in free agency.
The conditions of Driscoll’s agreement are unknown.
