Panthers Are Ready for the Flyers to Deplete Their Manpower.
When the Florida Panthers play the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday night, they most likely won’t have as many players as before.
Both Aaron Ekblad and Sasha Barkov are still probably out due to lower-body injuries.
Gus Forsling is still unwell, thus his status is still unknown.
However, they might reintroduce a few players into the starting lineup.
After missing Saturday’s game due to an undisclosed injury, Ryan Lomberg may be added back into the starting lineup after Dmitry Kulikov serves out his two-game suspension.
Coach Paul Maurice is not going to use anybody’s draw into the lineup as an excuse.
Although Florida has had a long list of injuries during their current four-game losing skid, their performance in Saturday’s shootout defeat to the New York Rangers was very different from their previous three games.
According to Maurice, “We were a really good, hard team and then we had three or four really unusual games.”
However, Bennett and Rodrigues were sidelined, and Ekblad was lost, so you start losing key players at this point. It’s only a factor, not an excuse, right? However, we played hard tonight with all those guys out, and we came in and tied the best club in the Metropolitan Division, so that’s excellent.
