NFL Draft’s top quarterback, according to Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh, is J.J. McCarthy.
During Monday’s league meeting, Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh continued to heap praise on Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy. He referred to McCarthy’s pro day as the best he had ever seen and reiterated his conviction that McCarthy is the best quarterback available in the NFL draft.
Harbaugh remarked, “I think he plays quarterback the best of any quarterback in the draft,” ostensibly highlighting McCarthy’s offensive mastery. “He is amazing. Thus, large and small markets. It won’t matter whether it’s hot or cold outside.”
In January, before Harbaugh went for the NFL, he and McCarthy guided Michigan to the national championship game. Ever since, Harbaugh has praised the abilities of his former quarterback whenever he gets the chance. The most recent instance occurred on Monday, when Harbaugh mentioned the numerous general managers and scouts who were taken aback by McCarthy’s ability to dazzle and throw in meetings.
Harbaugh declared, “That was the best throwing day I’ve ever seen.” “As I had anticipated, as soon as they were in his vicinity, I started to hear stories about how he performs on the field, the board, and the small, intangible things. It was, after all, hardly surprising at all. However, there was raving, and what I heard was amazing and wonderful.”
A viral video of quarterback Mike McCarthy to running back Blake Corum on a 60-yard pass at his pro day went viral. McCarthy had told reporters that he wanted to show reporters he could make throws like that.
In the most recent mock draft, ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. predicts McCarthy to the Minnesota Vikings at pick No. 11. McCarthy is ranked lower by Kiper than quarterbacks Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye.
