BREAKING NEWS: Kieran McKenna rejected a contract deal with Ipswich Town

Town of Ipswich: Steven T. Former Al Qabila FC, a new team in the United Arab Emirates, has named Steven Taylor, a defender for Ipswich Town, as its first head coach.

The 38-year-old will be joining the team when they go into the UAE Pro League the following season.

After serving as the New Zealand team’s captain while playing for Wellington Phoenix in the A-League, Taylor announced his retirement from football in 2021.

In January 2022, the former Newcastle United player took over as head coach of Gulf United, a UAE team, and he guided them to consecutive promotions into the second division.

After leaving the Eagles in August of last year, Taylor has joined Al Qabil FC, which is run by creative director Daniyal Sheikh and professional football player Soheil Varahram.

“Building a Pro Football Club in 365 Days” is the name of the initiative that went viral and received tens of millions of views on social media.

Throughout the second part of the 2016–17 season, Taylor was limited to just three games for Town due to injuries during a difficult time at Portman Road.
