Gardner Minshew II Shares His Expectations for the Raiders in Las Vegas
Gardner Minshew II, the new quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders, stated what he anticipates from the group in 2024.
During free agency, the Las Vegas Raiders signed Gardner Minshew II to a two-year, $25 million contract, adding him to their quarterback room.
One of the top backup quarterbacks in the league is Minshew. When he must take on a starting role, he may also help a team win games. He guided the Indianapolis Colts to the brink of the playoffs the previous season by doing just that.
In an attempt to challenge second-year player Aidan O’Connell for the starting spot, Minshew joins the Raiders. Under the complete guidance of Coach Antonio Pierce, the Raiders want to make a postseason comeback after missing out on it the previous year.
When the new signal-caller for the Raiders joined defensive end Maxx Crosby on the most recent episode of his podcast, “The Rush with Maxx Crosby,” the two talked about what the Silver and Black should expect from one other this season.
Regarding Pierce, Minshew remarked, “Everything I’ve heard is incredible.” It doesn’t even sound authentic, so the reviews couldn’t be much better. It’s incredibly wonderful to be around him a little bit because it looks legit. Everyone in the building, just by being around the guys, is in agreement. All people desire is to improve; they all want to succeed. When you accomplish it, I believe you have a shot. If everyone is pulling in the same direction, regardless of what’s going on or who’s on the roster, you have a decent chance.
Minshew continued by describing his initial impression of Pierce.
He stated, “It was inside the building.” “I saw him on the field, giving him a classic brother hug, fired up, and we were both giggling a little.” Man, you can sense the energy. Extremely eager to pursue this with him.
According to Minshew, he hasn’t looked at the calendar and is more concerned with helping the squad make internal improvements. In the summer, he said, he will review the schedule to determine which clubs he is eager to play.
With the acquisition of Minshew, the Raiders now have a strong O’Connell backup or a temporary starter while they search for their future franchise quarterback.
If the quarterback position improves, the Raiders have a good chance of making it back to the postseason.
