Ipswich Town are being linked with a move for the full-back ahead of the next transfer window.
Johnson, 24, has made 22 appearances in all competitions this season, 14 of which have come in the Premier League.
The Daily Mirror report the Tractor Boys are interested in luring him to Portman Road.
Ipswich Town are currently focused on gaining promotion from the Championship as they battle it out with the likes of Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton at the top end of the table.
They could see Johnson as someone to bolster their defensive options next term if they are to get over the line and into the top flight.
He can play on either flank of defence which would make him a useful player to have in their squad. The ex-England youth international also has experience of playing regular football at the top level.
Johnson is out of contract in late June and is yet to put pen-to-paper on an extension with West Ham meaning he will become a free agent as things stand.

The Londoner has risen up through the academy ranks of his current club and was a regular for them at various youth levels before breaking into their first-team.
He has played 109 times for the Hammers altogether to date and has scored two goals.
It remains to be seen whether he will be sticking around at the London Stadium beyond this term though due to his uncertain contractual situation.
Johnson is likely to be weighing up his options and assessing what would be the best move for his career at this stage.
In the meantime, Ipswich Town’s focus is on promotion and they are back in action this weekend with an away trip to East Yorkshire to take on Hull City. The Tigers are 7th in the table.
