Preview of the Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Series for April 22–April 25, Game Times, and Likely Pitchers.
The Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Pirates will meet for their first series of the 2024 season starting on Monday, April 22 and concluding on Thursday, April 25. These four games will be played at PNC Park. Here we will preview the series that includes game times and probable starting pitchers.
Winners of their last four and seven out of their last 10 are the Brewers. Major League Baseball’s best road team picked up their 10th victory away from home on Sunday as they completed a sweep of the division rival St. Louis Cardinals.
They are getting contributions from several offensively but William Contreras and his .987 OPS stands out the most. After getting off to an 11-5 start the Pirates have dropped six consecutive games that includes being swept by both the New York Mets and Boston Red Sox. For Pirates fans this is deja vu from a season ago when they similarly got off to a hot start and then fell apart.
Inability to capitalize with runners in scoring position has been one major issue for them over this six game stretch as they have just five hits in 38 opportunities. The Brewers have two games with starting pitchers listed as to be determined. Freddy Peralta figures to see one of those games.
DL Hall typically follows him, but he was placed on the injured list. This makes Bryse Wilson a likely candidate for a spot start, but manager Pat Murphy also mentioned prospect Robert Gasser as a possibility.
