Oli McBurnie’s injury at Manchester United is explained, and the striker is expected to miss “months” of action.
The Blades number nine has had yet another frustrating season of injuries and coming into tonight’s game at Old Trafford, was expected to lead the line.
However, McBurnie is nowhere to be seen in the squad and United fans are concerned about the news.
And offering clarity on the situation over on his Patreon account, journalist Alan Nixon has explained that McBurnie is set to miss months again.
According to Nixon, the Blades striker has suffered another serious injury and will be out for months.
The £20m striker has apparently suffered a torn abductor and will now have to recover ahead of the summer, where he is also out of contract.
The news is a bitter blow for United ahead of facing Erik ten Hag’s side.
However, the bigger story is what this means for McBurnie and his future.
Having struggled to stay fit for a lot of his time at United, it now looks like another serious injury is going to hold him back.
Chris Wilder has spoken about having players who are fit and available next season and while he admires McBurnie a lot, he has a big decision to make.
McBurnie is out of contract and recently expressed a desire to play for Rangers before he retires.
Quite whether the Gers will make their move for McBurnie at some point, remains to be seen.
