Legendary Dallas Cowboy Toby Keith passes away at age 62 from cancer
FRISCO: According to his website, Toby Keith, a well-known country music artist from Oklahoma best known for his patriotic songs and connections to the Dallas Cowboys, passed away early on Tuesday. He was sixty-two.
He “passed peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family,” according to the website. He battled bravery and grace in his fight. At this moment, kindly respect his family’s privacy.”
Keith shot to fame in the 1990s, coinciding with his favorite football club, the Cowboys, winning three Super Bowls. He later disclosed in June 2022 that he had been receiving treatment for stomach cancer.
“How Do You Like Me Now?!,” “Beer for My Horses,” “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue,” “Red Solo Cup,” and his signature song “I Shoulda Been a Cowboy” are some of his greatest hits.
Before beginning his career as a singer, the 6-4 Keith played semi-pro football and worked as a roughneck in Oklahoma’s oil fields. He also recorded the wildly popular “Should’ve Been” video for a Cowboys appearance on “Monday Night Football.” Keith was one of the Cowboys’ most well-liked halftime performers in team history.
He grew close to Cowboys players, including Troy Aikman, who is also from Oklahoma, and club owner Jerry Jones has mentioned his song “Don’t Let The Old Man In” as an inspiration.
Right now, our thoughts are with Keith’s friends and family.
