After a year of marriage, NFL tight end Darren Waller and WNBA player Kelsey Plum file for divorce.
Online records filed in Clark County, Las Vegas, indicate that tight end Darren Waller of the New York Giants and two-time WNBA champion Kelsey Plum have filed for divorce after just a year of marriage.
Waller and Plum, an All-Star guard for the Las Vegas Aces, jointly filed for divorce on Tuesday. On Tuesday, Plum shared something on social media that seemed to be related to her divorce.
“I’m inconsolable. I saw that it’s time to depart, yet I walked through fire for that man,” she wrote. God has blessed me with an amazing life, and I am incredibly appreciative of my family’s and friends’ unwavering affection.
“I’ll tell my story sometime, but not now. I am grateful for the ability to accept my suffering, forgive, and move on. I’m going to choose joy now and every day. Love you, KP.
Social media comments from Waller are absent.

When Waller was still a player for the Las Vegas Raiders, in March 2023, the couple made their marriage public. Being that Plum played for the Aces, they were among the most well-known couples in sports in Las Vegas. Not long later, Waller was sent to New York.
Plum, the top choice in the 2017 WNBA draft, joined the Aces after they moved from San Antonio. As a starter, she has helped the team win two consecutive league titles. In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she participated in the women’s 3×3 basketball team and won gold.
Plum and the Aces play the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday, May 14, at 10 p.m. ET (ESPN2) to kick off the 2024 WNBA season in Las Vegas.
Waller, a 2020 Pro Bowl selection, finished the previous season with 52 receptions for 552 yards and a touchdown while playing in 12 games for the Giants.
