This contract (“Agreement”) is entered into as of this ___ day of ________, 2025, by and between Aidan Hutchinson (hereinafter referred to as “Player”) and the Detroit Lions Football Club (hereinafter referred to as “Team”). This agreement outlines the terms and conditions of Player’s employment with the Team for the next four (4) years.
1. Term of Agreement
The term of this contract shall begin on the date first written above and shall continue for four (4) years, terminating on the ________ day of ________, 2029, unless earlier terminated or extended pursuant to the terms of this Agreement.
2. Compensation
Player shall be entitled to the following compensation during the term of this Agreement:
- Base Salary: The Player shall receive an annual base salary of $X,XXX,XXX (USD), payable in accordance with the Team’s standard payroll practices.
- Signing Bonus: Player shall receive a signing bonus of $X,XXX,XXX (USD) upon execution of this Agreement, which will be paid in a lump sum.
- Performance Incentives: Player may earn additional performance-based bonuses based on achievements as outlined in the Team’s performance incentive structure. These may include, but are not limited to, sack totals, tackles for loss, Pro Bowl selections, and overall team success.
- Roster Bonuses: Player is eligible for annual roster bonuses totaling up to $X,XXX,XXX (USD) based on meeting specific roster and team performance requirements.
3. Training and Participation
Player shall commence his training and conditioning regimen, with full participation in all Team activities, practices, and games as required by Team management. Player’s training began in early January 2025, and he will continue his development to ensure readiness for the upcoming NFL season.
Player is expected to fully comply with the Team’s medical and fitness requirements, and to actively participate in the Team’s offseason training activities as directed by the Team’s coaching staff.
4. Duties and Responsibilities
During the term of this Agreement, Player shall:
- Play in all regular season games, playoff games, and any other games in which he is deemed eligible and able to participate.
- Adhere to the Team’s policies, including but not limited to conduct, media relations, and social media protocols.
- Maintain peak physical condition and demonstrate full commitment to the Team’s goals, both on and off the field.
5. Injury and Health Provisions
If Player is injured during the term of this Agreement, the Team shall provide all necessary medical treatment and rehabilitation, as determined by Team medical personnel. If Player is unable to perform due to injury, his salary and bonuses may be adjusted according to the terms in the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
6. Termination
This Agreement may be terminated prior to the expiration of the term under the conditions specified in the CBA or through mutual consent by both parties.
7. Miscellaneous Provisions
- Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan and the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Entire Agreement: This document represents the entire Agreement between the Player and the Team.
