BREAKING NEWS: Malik Nabers of the Giants Reacts Unexpectedly to a Quarterback Question due to.
One of the biggest questions facing the New York Giants as they enter the offseason is who they will select as their franchise quarterback for the upcoming campaign. It’s time for New York to assemble their roster now that former quarterback Daniel Jones has joined the Minnesota Vikings. They are currently using Tim Boyle, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito as backup quarterbacks, but that is not a sustainable solution.
The Giants are expected to be linked to Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, according to a number of NFL experts and analysts. Last weekend, on December 14, Sanders and star wide receiver Malik Nabers were even seen throwing a football in New York City.
Nabers gave an intriguing response when questioned about the likelihood that Sanders would be a Giant.
Malik Nabers Reacts Unexpectedly to a Question About the Giants Quarterback
Nabers was questioned about Sanders after the Giants’ Sunday, December 15 loss to the Ravens. Nabers gave a neutral response when asked about his thoughts on passing the football with Sanders over the weekend and Sanders potentially “being your next quarterback.”
“Shedeur’s father, Deion, Colorado’s head coach, has a lot of faith in his son, but they need to do that upstairs,” Nabers stated. “They need to watch the movie and decide which quarterback they like.”
Then, somewhat unexpectedly, he stated that he is “unsure if they want a quarterback.” I’m not certain.
He continued, “The decision will be made when the draft time comes around, but it’s not draft time yet.”
The Giants obviously need a quarterback, but they may choose to select a veteran in the NFL Draft rather than select one.
Sanders is recommended by more NFL experts for the Giants.
The Giants will have many options for a quarterback next season, both rookies and veterans, but according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, he thinks Sanders will be the best choice.
According to a feature published on December 20, “Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward are anticipated to be the top collegiate quarterback options.”
“Sanders appears to be the most likely option should New York (now 2-12) finish with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft,” Raanan continues. According to ESPN Analytics, the Giants have a 37% chance of selecting first this week.
However, Sanders might prefer to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders. Jordan Raanan of ESPN speculates that Sanders might be leaning toward Las Vegas.
“The draft is still a long way off. Changes with the Giants coach and front office are among the many possible outcomes, Raanan continued. “With a possible 2–14 season looming, nothing can be fully removed from the table. The team’s plans might alter if (Giants GM Joe) Schoen were fired, depending on Raanan also said that, “Multiple sources close to Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado program also believe his preference would be to land in Las Vegas.”
In a December feature for USA Today’s Giants Wire, John Fennelly notes that, “If the Raiders stay the course and lose out, they get the top pick and the Giants would have to look elsewhere for their next quarterback.”
Heading into the NFL’s Week 16, the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders are tied for the worst record in the NFL.
