Panthers choose the nation’s fastest wide receiver in the most recent NFL mock draft.
Because of this, the Carolina Panthers gave the position top priority in the first few days of free agency and acquired Diontae Johnson, a former Pittsburgh Steelers pass catcher with 1,000 yards of experience.
Carolina will surely look for another excellent pass catcher in the 2024 NFL Draft to go along with Jonathan Mingo, Adam Thielen, and Josh Johnson. In their most recent mock draft, The Athletic selected Xavier Worthy, one of the fastest wide receivers available in the second round, for the Panthers.
With a 40-yard time of 4.21, Worthy became the class’s fastest wide receiver. Despite his small stature of 5 feet 11 inches and 165 pounds, his exceptional quickness allows him to contribute right away to Dave Canales’ offense.
“Despite his lightning-fast speed, Worthy maintains a hardworking, blue-collar attitude. He was the best practice player Texas had ever had, coaches there told The Athletic. As a sophomore, he really struggled to track the ball, but he put in a lot of effort to get better as he developed into a more well-rounded player.”
Worthy caught 75 catches for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns in the 2023 season. Everything about him was electric.
He would instantly provide an ungradable player to the offense in a Panthers uniform.
