“I’m Sorry for Your Loss”: Fans weep over the loss of a loved one to breast cancer as a NASCAR star
Barbara-Ann, the mother-in-law of DMG Racing driver Kyle Weatherman, passed away after a battle with breast cancer. Weatherman missed a practice and qualifying run for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Darlington, but he was there with his whole family during these testing sessions. He was replaced for the qualifying and practice runs by Leyland Honeycutt. DGM Racing was also in favor of their driver’s choice to stay with his family in the event of an emergency.
Nevertheless, Barbara lost the fight against cancer in the end, in spite of her heroic efforts and the support of her family. Weatherman shared the news of her closest family member’s passing on his X account, writing,
Meg also took to her Instagram account and shared a message after the passing of her mom. “My precious muma is now with Jesus. My heart is broken but at peace. Until heaven, mama. I love you more,” she wrote via Instagram stories. The NASCAR community had also showered the family with their constant support and prayers in their difficult times, and they were saddened to learn about Barabar’s demise.
NASCAR fans send prayers and condolences to Kyle Weather and his family
The NASCAR community was active and generous when donations were set up to aid Barbara-Ann and her family. Not only will the donation amount now come in handy for the funeral, but it will also help Meg’s brother, who has a disability. However, as they learned about the tragic news, the comments section started to buzz with prayer messages and condolences. “I’m so sorry my sincerest thoughts and prayers for you and your family 🙏🙏🙏🙏 may she rest in peace and may God give you all comfort and peace,” A user wrote.
Meanwhile, others extended their support to the Weatherman family with their messages, “Really sorry for your loss Kyle”. “Oh my gosh I am so sorry for your loss. We will be praying. 🙏”. Kyle Weatherman is running in his first full-time NASCAR Xfinity season since 2020. And despite missing the qualifying rounds at his last race at Darlington, he finished P17. Weatherman did have a sticker named “Barbara Brooks” on the back of his race car for the race, and it feels like the sticker will now find a permanent feature on the No. 91 car for the rest of the season.
